Psalm 129 is a communal lament. It is not cited in the options for various Mass liturgies so no text is provided. The psalmist makes reference to Israel's abuse suffered under enslavement and hard bondage ("Upon my back the plowers plowed, as they traced their long furrows" v.3). A reference to beatings with cords or whips which the Lord has cut (v.4). The psalm concludes with a blessing and confidence in God's mercy.
