Psalm 83 It is not cited in the options for various Mass liturgies so no text is provided. The psalm is a communal lament of the people. The psalmist calls upon God to protect the land as Israel's enemies seek to wipe it off the earth. The author provides a list of enemies in that age and calls upon the Lord with a voice of desperation. It concludes with the profession of faith, "Let them know that your name is LORD, you alone are the Most High over all the earth." (v. 19)
