Psalm 125

Psalm 125 is a national psalm of trust.  It is not cited in the options for various Mass liturgies so no text is provided.

The psalmist likens the faithful, who trust in the Lord, to a mighty rock, unmovable and eternal.  The Lord, similarly is portrayed as a fortress, like the mountains around Jerusalem, God protects his people.  The wicked powers ("scepter of wickedness") who would threaten God's chosen will be utterly thwarted.  The psalm concludes with with a prayer for peace in Israel.
